Youth in Action Preston: Empowering the Next Generation

Youth in Action Preston is a voluntary youth organization dedicated to serving the young people of Frenchwood and Avenham in Preston. Run entirely on a voluntary basis, it is led by passionate youth from within the community, for the benefit of the community.

This initiative was founded by a group of concerned young individuals who recognized the urgent need for healthy social alternatives. They believed that without such options, young people might gravitate toward harmful and undesirable forms of socializing. This vision was presented to the wider youth community and was unanimously embraced as a vital cause worth pursuing.

With a clear focus on empowering young people to realize their full potential, Youth in Action Preston strives to provide them with the skills and character needed to take an active role in their community. By doing so, we aim to enhance the overall quality of life for all.

We actively encourage young people to take initiative and make positive lifestyle choices. Through diverse opportunities, we aim to foster leadership qualities and develop practical skills, channeling the energy of our youth into productive and meaningful activities. Our goal is to steer them away from crime, substance abuse, and anti-social behavior, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

Youth in Action Foundation is dedicated to building a sustainable foundation that allows the group to thrive today and endure for generations to come.

I have been incredibly impressed by the outstanding work being undertaken by Youth in Action since 2007. This group has become a pillar of our community, providing young people with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, and connect with others.

Their initiatives promote inclusion, teamwork, and positive social change, empowering our youth to reach their full potential. Youth in Action’s dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and creating a safe space for personal growth is truly inspiring.

Our efforts are primarily focused on yound adults aged 15-24, including those who are often considered ‘hard to reach.’ We believe that every young person matters and deserves the chance to unlock their potential. By seeing our young people as assets rather than liabilities, we aim to create a brighter future for our community.

Youth in Action Foundation remains committed to improving and advancing our community in every way possible, fostering a sense of purpose and hope for both the youth and the broader community. Together, we strive to build a better tomorrow.
